Refreshed Ranch

Inhabited by a couple for over 60 years the ranch had fallen a bit out of style. Awash with smoke stained wallpaper, shag carpet from the 90s, and a busy exterior Sale Ready Renovations transformed this “fixer upper“ into a move in ready home.

The entire interior of the home was updated for a clean, fresh, current look in order to appeal to a broad group of potential buyers. The refresh included removal of dated wallpaper and a fresh coat of paint in single, on trend color throughout the home. The original wood floors were refinished in a light, low sheen finish. New carpeting was installed in various rooms.  All outlets, light switches and lighting fixtures throughout the home were replaced. Kitchen and bath fixtures were replaced with those of current styles and colors. On the lower level, a half bath was converted to a full bath and a bonus room was converted to a bedroom through the addition of a large closet. The workshop area was cleaned out and painted and the laundry are was made larger through the removal of an adjacent closet. All the flooring on the lower level was replaced. Waterproof laminate was installed in the bathroom, laundry area and common area. The bedroom conversion was carpeted and the workshop floor was painted. A non-structural wall was relocated to create a more spacious common area that could serve as a drop zone just inside the entrance door from the garage. A French drain with sump pump was installed as well as central air conditioning.

On the exterior of the home the shutters and trim were painted.  Minor repairs were made to trim work and a storm door was replaced. Overgrown foundation plantings were replaced with appropriate, deer resistant plantings. General yard clean up was performed and the fire pit area was cleaned up and staged. Multiple degenerated outbuildings were removed and the driveway was repaved.
